PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.

What went wrong: Struggled to click small buttons during the application.

Outcome

Testing ChatGPT agent on a real job application (to OpenAI), the poster found it much better than the earlier Operator but it struggled to click small buttons; they rated Manus as slightly ahead at times.

Here's a task I'd like your help with. Read it all the way through before you start.

Goal: Fill in a job application for me using my resume, ready for me to review.

Check with me first: Which job (link), and do I have my resume and answers to common questions ready?

What I'll give you:
- The job posting link
- My resume (file or text)
- Answers to likely questions: work authorisation, salary, notice period, links

Rules:
- Fill each field from my resume or my answers. If something isn't covered, ask me.
- If a button or checkbox doesn't respond, try once more, scroll or zoom, then tell me which one so I can click it.
- If the site needs a login or captcha, pause and let me handle it.
- Don't invent experience or answers.
- Stop before submitting so I can review.

Output: The application filled in up to the submit button, plus a list of fields you weren't sure about or couldn't click.

If anything here is unclear or missing, ask me instead of guessing.

You'll know it worked when: the form is complete and accurate, and I only need to review and submit.

Try this in:

Sends the Improved prompt shown above. ChatGPT and Grok open with it filled in, and ChatGPT may send it straight away. Gemini opens empty, so we copy the prompt for you to paste. Every button also copies it.

Opens in a new tab. We don't see what you send.

  • Margareth Felicia Gono, an international student who needed a visa, started job hunting scattershot. Gono built an application tracker with Claude, had it pull the main skills and keywords from each job description and compare them with the résumé, and used it as a career coach, which led to three résumés for analytics, sales and marketing, and consulting. Where interviewers allowed recording, Gono ran sentiment analysis on the notes to see where Gono hesitated or used filler words. The tracker showed 186 applications, 44 cold outreaches, 19 interviews, six take-home assignments, three final rounds and one offer, as a senior associate at DoorDash.
