Evidence: Article or interviewA newsletter, journalist or interview account of what happened.

PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.

What went wrong: It downloaded and summarized the report on its own, but couldn't email the summary: Google blocked the sign-in from the agent's browser.

Outcome

SE Ranking's reviewer asked ChatGPT agent to get HubSpot's 2025 State of Marketing report; it found the page, filled in the gated form, downloaded the report and wrote a summary without help, but Google blocked it from signing in to email the summary because it was using an unsupported browser.

Prompt Improved prompt

Strengthened by us to avoid the problem in the source. Not tested by the poster. It doesn't change what happened in the source.

Run this task now, exactly as written below. Everything you need is here, so start straight away and only stop if something required is missing.

Goal: Get a gated industry report and send me a short summary.

Fill in before running: Fill in the report, the details to use on the form and where the summary should go below.

What I'll give you:
- The report name and publisher ([REPORT])
- Form details to use (name, work email, company, role)
- Where to deliver the summary

Rules:
- Use only the publisher's official page for the report.
- Fill the form with exactly the details I gave; untick optional marketing opt-ins.
- Download the file and confirm it's the full report, not a teaser.
- Summarize the 5–7 findings that matter for [MY ROLE], each with the page number.
- If a sign-in or captcha blocks you, stop and paste the summary into the chat instead.

Output: The downloaded file, a one-page summary with page references, and a note of anything that blocked delivery.

You'll know it worked when: I have the report and a summary I can check against the page numbers.

This prompt has blanks to fill in, like [REPORT]. We'll copy it instead of filling it in, so you can edit it before you send.

The prompt they actually used (our rebuild)

The source didn't share its exact prompt, so we wrote this from what it describes.

Go to HubSpot's 2025 State of Marketing report page, fill in the form to download the report, summarize it and email me the summary.
Optional stronger version

Our rewrite with extra checks. The poster didn't test it.

Run this task now, exactly as written below. Everything you need is here, so start straight away and only stop if something required is missing.

Goal: Get a gated industry report and send me a short summary.

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Report and publisher
- Form details
- Delivery destination
- My role, for picking relevant findings

Rules:
- Use the official page only.
- Fill the form with my details; untick opt-ins.
- Download the full report.
- Summarize 5–7 findings with page numbers.
- Confirm the downloaded file's title page and page count match the publisher's description.
- Separate findings (with numbers) from the publisher's opinions.
- Note the report's sample size and method.
- If email delivery fails, also save the summary as a file I can download.

What went wrong before, and how to avoid it:
- Last time Google blocked the agent from emailing the summary: deliver in chat or as a file first, and treat email as optional.

If you get stuck: If sign-in or email delivery is blocked, paste the summary in chat. If a login, CAPTCHA or two-step code appears, stop and ask me to handle it; never guess or store passwords.

Verify before you finish: Check the summary against page numbers.

Output: File, summary and blockers.

Done when: I have the report and a checkable summary.
