Outcome
Andrew Donato uploaded his own draft resume so Grok 3 could match his voice, then asked it to critique the resume as a fast-screening in-house recruiter, an outsourced recruiter sourcing a senior sales leadership role, and a CRO. At each step he asked how likely that reader was to reach out and tweaked toward a 9/10, then had Grok merge the feedback in his original tone. He says the two-page result has already gotten him a few responses.

The source didn't share its exact prompt, so we wrote this from what it describes.
Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about anything important that's missing below. Keep them quick. Then do the task, checking in with me at the key points. Goal: Improve my resume for a specific kind of role by having it critiqued from the point of view of each person who'll read it, then merged into one version in my own voice. What I can give you (ask for whatever's missing): - My current resume (remove phone and home address if you like) - The target role or a job description - A writing sample so you can match my tone - The kind of company and seniority I'm aiming for Rules: - Critique as three readers in turn: a recruiter skimming in seconds, a specialist recruiter matching to the role, and the hiring manager. - For each, give a 1–10 'would contact me' score with the top 3 fixes. - Never invent achievements, numbers or titles; ask me for real figures instead. - Merge the changes into one version in my tone, and keep it to two pages. - Check facts that can change (prices, opening hours, dates, availability, rules) against the official source, and tell me anything you couldn't verify. Output: The three critiques with scores, then the final resume, then a list of what changed and why. You'll know it worked when: each reader's score goes up, every claim is true, and it still sounds like me.

You'll know it worked when: each reader's score goes up, every claim is true, and it still sounds like me. Before you finish: re-read my goal and constraints, check your answer against each one, and list anything you assumed or couldn't confirm.

- Build a custom GPT as a job-search coach and go from 2 or 3 interviews to at least 7 and a PayPal offerEvidence: Article or interview
Product manager Amar Saurabh, ex-Meta and TikTok, got only two or three interviews in the first two months of applying, and plain ChatGPT kept giving generic answers and asking for the résumé again. In about an hour and a half Saurabh built a custom GPT, 'PM job search advisor', loaded with their résumé, LinkedIn profile and project details. It drafted recruiter outreach (including 300-character connection requests), tailored the résumé to each job description and prepped each interview. Over two months Saurabh landed at least 7 interviews, with companies including Reddit, Intuit and PayPal, and took a lead product manager job at PayPal.

- Tailor a resume, cover letter and LinkedIn summary with ChatGPT, then get Gemini to judge themRecreated promptEvidence: Article or interview
A writer fed ChatGPT a job description and his existing application details to produce a tailored resume (two attempts; the first looked too plain), a one-page cover letter and a LinkedIn summary with recruiter keywords. He then asked Gemini to play the hiring manager: it scored him 8.5 out of 10 with 'a very high probability of landing an interview', but said the documents were too 'tech-first' rather than 'finance-first' for this employer.

- Track 186 applications, find missing keywords and review interview notes with Claude to land an offerEvidence: Article or interview
Margareth Felicia Gono, an international student who needed a visa, started job hunting scattershot. Gono built an application tracker with Claude, had it pull the main skills and keywords from each job description and compare them with the résumé, and used it as a career coach, which led to three résumés for analytics, sales and marketing, and consulting. Where interviewers allowed recording, Gono ran sentiment analysis on the notes to see where Gono hesitated or used filler words. The tracker showed 186 applications, 44 cold outreaches, 19 interviews, six take-home assignments, three final rounds and one offer, as a senior associate at DoorDash.
